Havasumoma 250 Posted October 19, 2016 Trying not to stress. I had my pre-op yesterday and it was all systems go for December. Today they tell me they must drop me as a client because I have Medicare as a secondary insurance carrier. Has anyone else run into this? What did it take to get into another program/surgeon? ProudGrammy 8,322 Posted October 19, 2016 drop me as a client because I have Medicare as a secondary insurance carrier. @@Havasumoma first off, medicare is considered your primary insurance then..........if you have other ins., its your secondary ie i have BCBS from my employer or am i mistaken and you mean your docs office doesn't accept medicare? make phone calls, find another place that does take medicare call other docs offices you won't end up with doc you initially wanted might take a lot of research - but don't give up you should be able to fix this never give up!!!! good luck kathy
Havasumoma 250 Posted October 19, 2016 I'm saying I have it for hospital. I've had it for 15 years and never used it. The office I was working with isn't medicare approved or contracted or whatever. Pre-op, 61 YRS, 5'5" HW 247, CW 223, BMI
Ebony Rose 133 Posted October 20, 2016 (edited) Why can they just drop you as a client? I'm confused on what Medicare is in America? Wish it was simpler for you, fingers crossed you'll find an even better surgeon. Edited October 20, 2016 by Ebony Rose

GBaygurl 29 Posted October 21, 2016 Does Medicare cover bariatric surgery? If you just have part A for hospital than ur employer insurance would be ur primary. So the doctor shouldn't be dumping you since ur primary should pay Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using the BariatricPal App
Fignewton 4 Posted October 26, 2016 I'd heard insurance won't cover after the age of 60, but I'm not sure, it's just what I've heard. I'm so sorry. I hope you get what you need soon. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
