Did you lose proportionately ?

Recommended Posts

Hello there! I was just wondering how many people lose proportionately? How many people's body types change all together? I have been as long as I can remember more hourglass shape proportionately. I've always considered the "girls" to be my greatest asset and my husband has always had a fondness of my rearend. I'm scheduled to be sleeved on 10/25. My husband is very supportive. He wants me happy and healthy, but doesn't care about my size. However, the last couple of days he has been making a lot of reference to my rearend and how much he is going to miss it?!? Good riddence! I say, but wonder if I will lose proportionately so it will still be the same proportion to my new and improved waist. Just wondering what others have experienced.

For me it seems like my boobs are going first. But I think mostly it depends on how you exercise. I am new to the world of exercise, so right now I'm power walking, so my lower half of my body is changing first. I'm going to start at the gym soon and the woman that owns it says she is going to help me come up with a program that helps with all over weight loss. Maybe that's an idea you could check out. I'm only 2.5 months out, so I'm not an expert.

everyone is different. I am hourglass too and I find when I have lost in the past I became even more so (I never lost from my boobs and very little from my hips). We shall see this time. I gained weight on my tummy after my pregnancy with my son and that is new for me.

I was a B cup before I had kids and gained all this weight. I am now a D, going back to a B will be fine with me. My husband married me smaller so he won't complain. I am sick of being obese, I don't want to be on blood pressure meds anymore or have more health problems as I age.

Lots of people lose their boobs and their butts when they lose. You can build up your Buns with exercise but some people end up having plastic surgery to fix their boobs and sagging tummies after weight loss. I am 54 and had 4 huge babies, I don't expect to look like a super model when this is all over.

Go to YouTube and search WLS, RNY, VSG, etc. People make videos of their weight loss journeys. I would say most lose upper body size before they lose lower body. They show videos of their excess skin after loss. It's hard to predict, everyone is different, but for me being a healthy, normal weight is the ultimate goal!

I was the same way when I was younger, my tummy stayed small for a long time even as I got bigger. Age changes that a lot, now I have more around the middle. But yep, everyone is different and post weight loss we may look different than we expect to look.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
