brather 7 Posted October 19, 2016 Today was my first day of purée foods and I ate some scrambled eggs and now I'm miserable. I feel like I need to vomit. Anybody else have an experience like this? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
ShelterDog64 2,364 Posted October 19, 2016 @@brather eggs have been really hard for me since my surgery and I used to eat eggs several times a week. I'm 4 months out now and I can have one poached egg every couple of weeks, but that's all. Sorry, but it's not all that uncommon
cynthiap05 3 Posted October 19, 2016 I ate a scrambled egg and had a lot of slime after.
limase63 39 Posted October 19, 2016 Sometimes I can eat one slowly taking small bites, and sometimes they make me terribly sick. No rhyme or reason. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
emardee 192 Posted October 19, 2016 Pre-surgery, I loved eggs. Post-surgery, they became revolting to me. I'm two months out and back to the point where I can eat half a hard boiled egg, or about half of a scrambled egg, but only a few times a week. blizair09 3,250 Posted October 19, 2016 I am so excited because I get to try a scrambled egg this Sunday. I hope I don't have a bad reaction to it. I have always loved eggs, and if they will work for me, it is going to be the first step back to some sense of a new normalcy for me. I'll have to remember to take it super slow. suzzzzz 1,005 Posted October 19, 2016 I feel very fortunate scrambled eggs work for me. Try them again in another week or two. Soft scrambled with a little cheese helps keep them moist.
cbonet 336 Posted October 19, 2016 I couldn't do hot eggs but I could do egg salad, very mushed.

theantichick 2,204 Posted October 19, 2016 My surgeon said that a lot of her patients can't tolerate eggs until after they are on solid food for a while. Even though they're "soft" some people just don't tolerate them well during the soft/puree phase. She suggested if I had issues (which I did) to try again later (which I have, and everything's fine now).
deb2571 70 Posted October 19, 2016 I had the same problem. Keep trying every week. It took about a month on solid food before I could eat them. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App

migalo 142 Posted October 20, 2016 I was so looking forward to a scrambled egg but half way through I finally found out what the foamies are. I tried again with an sunny side up egg and ate it slow with no issues but still hesitant on eggs. They used to be a favorite. EricaTasia 3 Posted October 20, 2016 My surgeon does not recommend eggs during the purée stage. They are allowed in the soft food stage. I just had my first puréed meal this morning. 2 tbsp refried Beans. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
