Moogle 116 Posted October 19, 2016 Started about week 13-14 for me. Best thing to do is to make sure you get your fluids, Protein and Vitamins in. At least that is what my team told me. I started taking a Biotin supplement as well hoping that it grows back faster (seriously though, my nails grow so fast now). Every time I run my fingers through my hair I end up with a half dozen or so strands and you do not want to see what comes out in the shower.
FunkyMunkyBrat 205 Posted October 19, 2016 I was reading up on that and read its cyclic.. It will grow back.. Munky
UberBuffaloGal 20 Posted October 19, 2016 I ate perfectly, got all my Protein and Vitamins, took Biotin and B 12 and my hair fell out in clumps from 12 weeks to 20 weeks. Now at 7 months its growing back and I have an Albert Einstein thing going on. It is what it is. Either way, it WILL grow back Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

glitter eyes 1,398 Posted October 19, 2016 Adding a powdered marine collagen supplement to my Water everyday cut my Hair loss way down. I also added a cup of bamboo tea everyday which is high in silica and this helped with the dryness, breakage, and brittleness I was experiencing. 1 BeGood reacted to this
Shaunie 123 Posted October 19, 2016 Where do you get that? I've never heard of that
Icantbelieveit 955 Posted October 19, 2016 Oh yeah, my hair was on the dry side before, but now my curls are just frizz out of the shower. I only comb my hair now with conditioner in the shower for less friction. The knots are like what a 6yo gets Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App
saramarie 4 Posted October 24, 2016 I've only heard of taking massive amounts of Biotin even before the surgery to help prevent it. I am not looking forward to it either~ hopefully my efforts pay off and it won't happen as drastically with all the Biotin I've been taking!
GmaDiana 81 Posted December 18, 2016 You lose hair because surgery and weight loss was a shock to your system. When I had my sleeve 2011 I thought I would be ok.Nope,I lost hair and it grew back in.Alarming when you see it and you panic.I had bypass 3 1/2 weeks ago they still said I could lose hair.I'm taking Hair,Skin and Nails supplements.Hope it helps but won't be surprised if I lose hair again.
