I had my RYN on the 22nd of September. The last week I've been throwing up a yellow like bile, still have my gallbladder. But I've been keeping my meals small like I'm suppose to, it usually starts when I eat something heavy like a bit of bread, not sure if this is normal or not

Any ideas?

You are a brave one, Heather!

My RNY was on September 19th and "bread" is not anywhere on my immediate horizon or the program laid out for me by my Doctor and Bariatric team.

I had surgery Aug 10. I still throw up when I over eat.said

I follow dieticians directions. Doctor said I might not be able to eat as much as book said. So your body will make you throw up until you get rid of extra.

Throw up or slimies? I think there's a big diff. I've only really thrown up once. Slimies happen as I adjust to food and have 1-2 bites extra. Constantly throwing up is a sign to either step back a stage or eat way less.

I would stay away from complex carbs including bread for the first year after surgery.

Excellent advice from what I've been advised.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
