I grazed last night.... After dinner I had a snack, just veggies...but then later I ate a little more....then a little later I ate more. Cucumbers and tomatoes...and a few Edamame...but even healthy food, it was still grazing. Grazing is a hard habit to break, an old habit to break. Frustrated with myself and of course the fear I'm stretching out my little tummy hits me too. Today is a new day, right? Try harder tonight to control this.

How about adding a little more Protein to your dinner so you will feel so full you can't graze? Old habits are hard to break but it can be done. And if you do graze, have protein first.

I grazed last night.... hard habit to break

@@Raynbolite

Knock it Off!!! LOL

you are right

today is a new day

start over eating correctly, minus the grazing

Knowing the problem, is half the solution

frequent discussions about stretching the sleeve

will it or not

i was told the sleeve will not stretch

it can never go back to its original size

during surgery there is a part of your tummy that is cut out

("they/we" call it the stretchy part!!)

it is hard not eating (grazing) at times

but, for your success - follow that rule and all the others

i know you can do this

i'm watching you ;)

stay strong

good luck bud

kathy

???? just what I needed to hear. I get frustrated, I am in a stall...so everything seems more overwhelming than it really is. You are right...I need to "knock it off"...plain and simple. Control! Again proudgrammy ...thank you!

Well, I'm a grazer and not all that concerned about it. I build my grazing habits into my fitness pal daily plan so that I stay within my limits. I'm officially down 60 pds today since 2/29/16 and am very happy with my progress towards my 100 pds goal.

It is hard, and it seems like a "good" food should not be an issue. But, I agree that the pattern is important to break. I have struggled with this a bit myself. My team does not approve of any snacking. If I feel like energy or "appetite" is leading me toward this, I try to have my 2nd Protein shake after dinner, or I will add a Protein shake/broth to the day.

Night cravings have been an issue for me for a long time. What I did was set a timer (in one of my diet apps) about an hour before the pattern would usually begin along with some "emotional eating" quote. That would remind me to keep busy with my hobbies and/or work till I go to sleep.

Night cravings

hi Tex,

in the evening i feel like Pavlof's dog

when bell rings, he runs and eats his dog food

when the tv goes on

I "sometimes" run to the kitchen ;)

don't keep bad foods around

usually i'll grab my Lite and Fit Greek Yogurt

luv, luv the blueberry

healthy food is great

but not if you go overboard on example Protein bars

i can eat 2 slowly without much of a problem

@@Sai - maybe you and i should talk on the phone

while we're watching my 600 lb life LOL

knowing the problem is half the solution

good luck to us both

kathy

I feel like I get up every single day and say to myself 'yep, still can't do that stuff anymore'. It's honestly day by day by day...and if I screw up one day, the next day is a clean sheet until I choose to do something to screw it up again.

I realized after my surgery that I used to head straight to the kitchen to get something to eat the minute I walked in the door. And I did it just now. Of course, I haven't already overeaten all day long and I didn't get a bagel or a bowl of ice cream, I got a yogurt, but the habit is still the same. I HAVE to break it.

Be kind to yourself...you didn't dive head first in to a vat of Chunky Monkey, right ;-)

Bah, I haven't grazed for so long and guess what? At midnight I had a piece of string cheese (I split it with 2 of my cats lol. They love that stuff.) I felt bad about it all morning. My reminder came through on my phone at 8 pm but I had the phone silenced. Doh!!

I feel as though I broke my abstinence... Ugh, let it go, let it go.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
