Kaycee1971 29 Posted October 17, 2016 Hi all.....I have a problem!! I was sleeved September 12, 2016...when I was able, I tried to have my normal Protein Powder shakes. The problem is they, all of a sudden, are making me very nauseous and I cannot drink them anymore....Im so run down because Im not intaking enough Protein and I really don't want to get sick. Unfortunately, at this time, I cannot afford the expensive ready-made shakes which I know I can tolerate. Any suggestions on what I can do or take??? Please help!!!! cbonet 336 Posted October 17, 2016 Try using an enhanced Protein milk with your shake. I've been using organic almond milk with 10 grams of protein in each cup. It gives you the rctea protein and changes the taste of the protein a little. You could also add some good greek yogurt to your shake .
facebro29 272 Posted October 17, 2016 Have you tried making your own with unflavoured Protein powder, milk and a sugar free Syrup? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
eliminnowp 113 Posted October 17, 2016 What food/liquid stage are you in? There might be other high Protein alternatives, depending on what type of things you are allowed to consume. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

kharenzhee 39 Posted October 18, 2016 I swear by GENEPRO unflavored Protein powder. You can add it to anything. 30 grams of Protein for 1 tablespoon. Is it the texture or the taste of your shakes that is making you nauseous? If the texture, I agree that you can try making them thinner with more Water, and shaking or blending them with ice. If flavor is an issue, I love to add some PB2 powdered Peanut Butter to my shakes. Great flavor enhancer and it adds more protein. There are also high protein gelatins and puddings sold on BariatricPal Store that are good, but again, you can achieve something similar by mixing some GENEPRO (or other unflavored protein powder) into a s-f pudding or other food. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

nannare 38 Posted October 18, 2016 I had the same problem. I got some nectar from the bariatric store, it's so much better and a lot easier to get down. Sent from my QTAQZ3 using the BariatricPal App
ineffably_yb 8 Posted October 18, 2016 I went on Amazon and bought a 12-pack of Isopure Protein Drinks. They don't taste too bad and they have 40g of Protein per bottle. Best of luck!

Danab23 4 Posted October 19, 2016 I'm post op 5 days and I can hardly handle the nectar, it gags me every time I try to drink it! I'm hoping with time I will be able to handle it. Mine is Syntrax nectar. I'm also having issues with my Protein shakes so I just ordered powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury unflavored Protein. The only thing that I'm able to drink without a problem is Better than Bullion, and Water with a splash of G2 or Nestle Splash. I hope you find something soon to help you!!!
