I had the sleeve done almost three months ago. Today at work I almost passed out. I was hot and clamy and sweating. I had the shakes. They caught me just in time and put a cloth on my neck. They sent me home and I called my doctor and they told me to just push fluids. Anybody had this happen. Or any suggestions as to what you would do?

Are you on blood pressure meds? Had you eaten recently? Are you dehydrated? Blood sugar drop?

Meds may need to be reduced, you may have had a reaction to a food, or something else. May not be sleeve related. I would follow my doctors instructions.

No I'm not on medication. Yes and not maybe a little dehydrated. Not sure thats what they thought. This happened two hours ago and I still feel like crap.

I've had dizziness and near faints too. My doctor's office advised me to increase my fluids which I was incredulous of, because I was drinking Water like mad etc.

But it really was the answer for me. I began spacing my drinking more evenly and increased my salt intake to retain the Water. I have definitely improved.

Hope you feel better soon.

This happened to me a few times also, its usually related to what my diet consisted of the day before or not enough fluids and/or if I had coffee in the morning and let too much time pass before getting Breakfast Protein in.

Even still I think my blood sugar drops early morning and I hate when I'm driving and this happens. I believe we are just still early out. Its only 10 weeks for me, but every day is a learning experience.

too much sugar in something you ate? i had a rude awakening when i thought all plain, low fat greek yogurt was low in sugar when it isnt....cabot's is the only one i have come across with low sugar... but too high of sugar does to me what you described....i am 1.5 months from sleeve.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
