I had my surgery 2 days ago and have had very little issues with pain (minus the first day) my doctor really didnt tell me a whole lot about bandaging and scar treatment but im assuming if they are not oozing anymore i dont need to cover them? Did anyone else put on some neosporin with staples still in?

I didn't get staples but glue instead. My incisions didn't start leaking after about 5 days or so. I'm 20 days out of surgery and my incisions still ooze a little and will for another few weeks. That's what my surgeon told me at least. They recommended just letting the wounds air out and clean & dry them twice a day. Bandage when necessary but change the dressing every 1-2 hours to avoid the scabs sticking to the dressing. Hope this helps and best of luck on your healthy journey!

Thanks for this. I was stapled and my incisions ate looking good. But the one in my belly button is giving me issues. I think he removed the staples too early for that one and it looks sketchy to me. I've been covering it and cleaning it. But I've been noticing like a slime and a smell. It doesn't feel any worse but im getting worried. I was going to go to my doctor and see if she can give it a look.

After 48 hrs, I was told to remove the bandages, and put neosporin on every day to avoid infection.
