Anyone get dizzy spells? I am 11 days post op and I have been having dizzy spells all day. I should call the surgeon or my doctor? It's Sunday so I'm not sure what to do.

I'm 23 days out and never had a dizzy spell. I would definitely call my surgeon if I did. Even on Sunday someone should be covering for him

I had a lot of dizziness early on.

Talked with my clinic, and they took me off my BP pill immediately, encouraged me to drink as much Water as I could possibly tolerate. At one point I had to go in and get a couple units of IV saline. Made me feel SO much better.

Went away after a couple months.

Turned out to be a combination of dehydration and low BP.

after surgery I was still on my diaretics for BP, also lasex, which DR did tell me not to continue taking, however my daughter had a miscarriage the day before the surgery, and I totally forgot what he told me. My daughter, a nurse, was supposed to be with me in the hospital to have another presence to listen to instructions, but she was having a dnc, while I was in surgery, and I was thinking more of her than me. ended up in hospital, peeing out more than taking in, with keytones at 2.1, stayed overnight. they took me off all bp meds then my bp started rocketing, and legs swelled up, so it put me a few weeks behind till it all got straightened out. All good now, losing weight consistently. Lesson learned about going to dr, should not have piddled around for so long.

I checked my blood pressure at Walmart just now and it was perfect. I am gonna see my GP this week for a checkup. The doc on call said it was most likely dehydration and not taking Vitamins, which I can't tolerate the ones I have. So I just bought some Centrum minty chewable vitamins and we'll see how that goes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
