Hi Guys,

I went from feeling absolutely human to today were I feel absolutely horrible. I feel nauseated and weak. I'm trying to get Water down me. I have no desire to 'eat' and drink today but I'm making myself. I'm 12 days post op. Anyone ever gone backwards? Is this normal?

@@facebro29

sorry today is a bummer of a day

i don't think two (2) people can have the same "normal"

what might be going on for you always - could be very different from someone else

but both are normal/right for the individual

nausea/weakness are both common/"normal" feelings for many

you are very early post op

the good thing about your bad days.....

you have experienced good days follow

you are sooooo early PO, different days you will have ups and downs

what are you eating at 12 days PO?

you are on soft foods??

you are already feeling nausea

be careful how you drink

sip sllllowy, take a few breaths/breaks

"forcing" yourself to drink is good

especially the necessary Protein drinks

drink as much Water as possible too

drinking too fast is not good

and if you rrrrreallllly feel like you might get sick

pushing/forcing is one thing

but cleaning up "water vomit " yech!!

you will eventually find YOUR normal

feel better sooner than later

good luck

kathy

Hi @@facebro29,

I'm also 12 days post op and I definatley have great days and bad ones so far. Two days ago was awful. Weak, nauseous and just yucky all over. I was literally in bed at 5pm when my husband came home. Then yesterday I hit an upswing and felt great, and gots lots of things done! Are you having a hard time getting the protien shakes down without feeling sick? I know I am. And when I don't drink them I suffer from the same weakness you are describing.

Hang in there. I think we will be moving towards more great days than bad ones soon. :)

I'm still on liquids and sick of them now. I start puréed foods on Tuesday and so looking forward to it. I thought I was past the yucky, tired blah feeling but I guess I'm not.

I have been walking loads the last few days but today can't get out of bed to walk. Hope tomorrow will be better. Thanks for you input guys. Just going to have an in bed and Netflix day today.

I'm 13 days post op today. The same with me. Some days I'm getting in my fluids great and I feel pretty good. Other days not and I feel really tired and yucky. It was like that yesterday. I just didn't want to be bothered and did not get half my fluids down. I'm glad to see it's not just me. Things will get better for both of us.

Living life like it's golden! A change is coming!!!!

Remember your hormones are changi g everyday and there is a great deal of internal healing going on. The gases in your stomach will change daily as well for a while. I'm 5 weeks out and every day is a little different. If concerned call your doctors office

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
