I am going to have much bypass on 10/26, but am getting frustrated, my supposed support group ( bf and aunt) have read over the post op information I've bed given and it says that I can eat normally . .were gone round and round because my doctor has told me (and given me a copy) of what I can and can't have. . I know I will never be able to eat their "normal" again, what should I did

Follow the plan the doctor gave you. You are in charge of you.

Your families normal will not likely help you. Ask them to attend a session with your nutritionist if you need back up.

No one decides for me and if they did, I never would have met goal nor been able to maintain it. My families normal is NOT normal.

Normal is healthy Protein, veggies and fruit once your body is ready.

That's why we're going around cause their norm isn't mine and I will fix my own food, my bf thinks I can eat his Pasta dishes and I keep telling him I can't, he keeps telling it says "normal" food

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
