What to do when you a test for something sweet

@giturefeatherweight you are the 1st person I noticed that uses the PROTIEN bars. I am usually on the go so they make following the rules much easier. What brand and flavor do you use? Also for the Oikos yogurt try the limited edition salted caramel ... oh so good. I ate this even before these menus rules were put into place for me....

I have tried several different brands of low carb Protein bars and my favorites are the cheap Pure Protein ones that you can get at Wal-Mart in dark chocolate coconut and the salted caramel. I like the flavo

Oops. Accidentally hit post on my iPad before I was finished. I was going to say that I like the flavor of some of the Quest bars but the dense, sticky texture just ruins them for me.

After weeks of liquid diet, I still get nauseous thinking about anything sweet but my favorite treats are superfood fruits. They contain so much more than just Vitamins. They have Fiber, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemicals and a whole slew of benefits for your skin, hair, and body health. Can't get all of those in a pill. Hehe

I have a juicy pomelo in my refrigerator right now that I think I'll have a few slices for Breakfast with some cheese.

Make Cookies out of a Quest bar. Only eat one or two which is 1/8th ,for two, of a quest bar. Check out the world according to egg face. Google it, it is a blog by a very successful wls patient and she puts out tons of great recipes that are wls friendly and taste great for all sorts of savory and sweet alternatives.

There is a cherry pie upstairs on the shelf.. I have been trying to ignore it since afternoon.. it's 1 am and I don't think I will be able to sleep unless I have a bite or two.. a slice of it is apparently 390 calories.. half a slice would be almost 200 calories.. I could cry just now.. damn you ovulation..

I love the Power Crunch Protein Bars. Careful, they are addicting! Allll of their flavors are to die for. But they have a salted caramel that is soooooo good!
Thanks, I'm putting in an Amazon order now.

I have a slice of rock melon and Water melon, with either Chobani yoghurt and vanilla essence and cinnamon, or bit of custard. This satisfies my sweet craving.

I've learnt that I can't have a bit of ice-cream or even frozen yoghurt, as I then want more of those .....

At times, I have something salty instead, like chicken broth with a teaspoon of sesame oil, and this kills my sweet craving.

Check out HALO Top ice cream and Eat Me Guilt Free. Both have lots of high Protein low carb choices. I also use polaners no sugar added jelly I add a tablespoon to Greek plain yogurt or go 1% cottage cheese and it gives you the sweet flavor for only 10 calories and like 5 carbs. The have several flavors. Also the oikos triple zero yogurts. They have salted caramel, mixed berry, chocolate, coffee and many other flavors, help with protein and will give you the sweet kick you need.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
