Thought on buying clothes

Recommended Posts

Currently I am on the boarder line of a large and extra large for a top. My boobs are holding me back. Lol is it Jinxing myself to go with the smaller size in a jacket? It's a great deal like 1/4 of the original price. I guess I'm insecure on this working. I don't know why I get so much anxiety over getting excited over things or looking forward to better things. (hence keeping up with therapy). I'm trying to be frugal too and not buy alot during the dropping weight or I'll go broke. It's a petty problem but I wanted to see your opinions.

I have no opinion on what you should do because it's not for me to spend your money. If, however, I see a jacket that I like and I intend to keep losing and said jacket is marked down 75% and I think it will be in season when it's a good fit, I'd buy it in a flash. I'd probably buy it even if I had no idea whether it might be a good, in-season. If I'm working my plan, I don't feel insecure about my progress. If I'm watching my spending, I'll buy one jacket, not five.

First and foremost, though, getting excited over things is a sign that we're alive. Excitement and enthusiasm are happy-making. To stifle it is to give up. Feel the life-affirming feeling even if anxiety is part of the mix.

I just go back and forth. I know I'll keep loosing logically. I know I need a winter jacket because I just donated my old ones because they were too big. I hate over thinking simple or small things. This whole process is so overwhelming even though I know I will end up where I should be.

Personally I'd buy it.. I'm not running out wasting money but I need a coat.. It's a great deal.. Love it.. I deserve nice things.. I can sell it next year for what I paid for it.. Win win or donate if I chose

@@busybeebug, yipes, get out there and buy the coat. You can't hide in the house all winter. At the very least, you'll be able to get to your therapy appointments! Git! Here's a kick in the pants!

(You know, I hope, that I don't really think you'll hibernate.)

Thanks. I needed that. And everyone's posts too. Change is hard. And no hibernation for me. I have an awesome hot tub outback that I don't intend to neglect and a ski pass to give some winter exercise!

A jacket is a necessity and you can get away with it being a little larger too. I didn't buy any cloths except for some scrubs for work until I was halfway to my goal weight. I bought them a little small and I am sure I will fit in them fine in a month or so.

I will do my personal shopping either on or after Boxing Day. It's goodwill until then. But then.. I don't work in an office so I don't know if I would have gotten away with shopping at goodwill if I were expected to dress up for work.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
