When You Do Everything Right

Recommended Posts

Everything runs smooth, you feel great when you take small bites, eat the right foods and drink your liquids 30 mins after eating. You gonna have some bumps in the road when you allow your mind to tell you to have what you can't have or having to soon . But if you really want this to work you will do the work. I'm learning each day the Lord allows me to open my eyes. I'm learning and not deviating from the plan that's gonna give me more of a future / A healthy one at that. It gets hard sometimes but I think about where I was, and where I want to be and I go right instead of left. Knee pain I have no desire to have anymore, out of breath from just lacing up my shoes I don't want anymore, diabetes I don't want anymore and high blood I don't want anymore. But life I want to breath that. On yo a new healthy me. Some days get hard but the blessing is in the pressing

I hear ya. It all has to start somewhere. Without that first step in the right direction, how will you end up where you want to be?

Change is hard, but our previous choices weren't helping, so we have to change if we want to be healthy.

The farther away I get from surgery, (5months) the stress from change goes down. It's not all puppies and rainbows. But I am down 70lbs from surgery, fitting into jeans again, my rings are fitting and can walk longer. Sure I started a year ago at 429, and am a slow user compared to others that started at my surgery weight (389) but slow losing is still losing!

Preach on sisters,if it was easy there wouldn't be obesity but the wonderful thing about this is that the struggle is not all yours we are all in the same boat together and the forum is to be used to lift each other up when we are feeling low use every resource at your finger tips your care team this forum whatever it takes to get you through these hurdles always know we are here for each other to talk each other down off that ledge. We did not get this far to turn back now or to fail.

Amen you preach. I thank you all and like you said use the resources we have plenty here or our surgical team who is with us forever. Let's continue to uplift and build one another, because the world don't understand they look at it as we took a easy way out. No we didn't take a easy way out, our way just wasn't working so we got help just as others who get help with whatever is holding them back and damaging their health. Let's keep going forward. I appreciate you all

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
