ladylidia 19 Posted October 15, 2016 Just began using myfitnesspal when I put my info in such as height, weight, goal weight it asked how much I wanted to lose in a week I put 2 lbs as that was the max the part that confuses me is that it says I need to eat 1740 calories per day this is way too much today I have eaten 440 and exercised which according to the app I burned 880 calories so it's telling me I now have 2100 calories to eat Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
okiegirl1980 73 Posted October 15, 2016 Ignore that part! Adjust the Protein and carbs to what you are supposed to be getting. I was thought I got to eat more when I was using that app at first also. Part of the reason I actually gained weight. My Nut said ignore and ignore when it says you haven't had enough calories. It's good for tracking and keeping a log but not intended for bariatric patients Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Djmohr 6,965 Posted October 15, 2016 Those of us who have bariatric surgery can pay no attention to what MFP tells you. I use is simply to track what i eat and where i am at but dont count on it to tell you what your intake should be. Follow your doctors plan for that and my fitness pal will provide awesome tracking. Sumaire 75 Posted October 15, 2016 I recommend subscribing for a year, as it's only $50 and you can micromanage your settings at that point. I've found it to be VERY useful. Plus, $50 for the year is much better than paying $10 a month and paying $70 than you should have to. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
