I get really tired, too. Sometimes I try to do too much and it catches up with me. And yesterday, I had to have some blood work done for the NP at surgeon's office. It wiped me out for pretty much the rest of the day.

September 28. Today is my 16th day post-op.

Part of it is that I am still on liquids. The foods that were added in Week 3 (which began yesterday) are all carb-laden (oatmeal, cream of wheat, 1/2 ripe banana, baked sweet potato). I did low carb during my six-month pre-op diet obligation and lost 99 pounds before the surgery, so I won't let my carbs go above 20 grams per day. That is keeping me on liquids for an extra week. Next Thursday, I can add in cottage cheese, cheese sticks, green Beans, and zucchini, so I am hoping that will help me out in the energy department...

Yes, but since I won't eat sugar free pudding or yogurt, it is pretty much strained cream of chicken Soup with unflavored Protein Powder, along with Water, a Protein Shake in the morning and some sugar free Jello sometimes.

I have been pretty blessed in that department. I have been getting in 64 oz of Water since Day 2 post-op, (and I have gotten in 80 oz the past few days) and I have been above my Protein goals since the first day home. I must be healing pretty rapidly, but who knows...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
