katelyn.hitz 1 Posted October 14, 2016 I'm so scared to go through with this. I'm worried I will lose too much weight and not be happy with my body! Any women who were 5'8" and weighed 240?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
emardee 192 Posted October 18, 2016 5'7" and I weighed 240. I'm two months post surgery and am now in a size 14, a place I haven't been since college. I'm not worried about losing too much, but I get where you're coming from. What's your surgery date? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
katelyn.hitz 1 Posted October 20, 2016 I don't even have one yet. I meet with the surgeon on the 1st. I'm trying to get all my paper work for my insurance right now. And I also have to gain 15 more pounds for my insurance to cover it. And that's amazing!! What size did you start? Maybe you're the same body type as me? emardee 192 Posted October 20, 2016 Ah yes, the "you're not heavy enough for this surgery" shtick from insurance. I had an underlying condition or three (massive hiatal hernia, esophageal stricture and a gaping valve) and so I didn't have to go through that part (gaining so I can lose). I started at a 2x. I hope they don't force you to gain weight--maybe your doc can talk them into it. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Luckygemnz 12 Posted October 29, 2016 My BMI wasn't high enough but because of existing renal and rheumatoid and AS issues I was considered for the surgery...and I am 60 years old... Very happy with my results...see my blog for encouragement Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
