My surgery is at 9:30 tomorrow morning. Does anyone have any last minute advice or suggestions for the night before? I am in rather a fog...calm, anticipating, and having a hard time believing it's finally here. Is that odd? I've been overweight for so long, I am filled with hope that I will finally get this under control. I am quite ready and totally at peace and happy with this decision.

Anxiety is normal. Be positive, deep breathe and think of the goal. You don't need much for the hospital, deodorant, brush, toothbrush, underwear. I packed way to much and didn't use any of it. I stayed one night, used hospital gown and slippers. Went home in the same clothes I came in. When you get home a heating pad on your stomach is very comforting . best wishes. After a couple of days its really very manageable☺.

If you are not freaking out a little, you didn't pay attention to the material. It was really dang easy on the back end to me, but everyone is a little different. I hope your journey was a great as mine and I wish you much success.

Back scratcher....bring a back scratcher to the hospital...it makes scratching soon much easier...you will be itchy from the pain meds.....trust me...you won't regret it...

Don't forget your CPAP if you use one! Best of luck!

Best of luck to you! I love your title "sleeve eve"...very catchy, I may have to use that when I go, on Christmas Eve Eve (12/23).

Walk as much as you can when you get to your room... it's awful the pain I mean and the only way to get it out is walking

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
