When I was on soft foods I ate a lot of Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna, turkey, salmon, refried Beans, green beans, etc. You can still do everything that was allowed during the clear and full liquid phases, too.

I'm two weeks out now I wish I could have seafood ha. I'm on a soft food diet only until a month out then I can add seafood. Must be why I'm dropping pounds like crazy. Basically I eat eggs, Cottage cheese, Cheese, Yogurt, Split peas. Gets a little boring but that's ok. Its worth it !

My plan has me in phase I forever so I haven't actually tried these...but here's a few pureed/soft food recipes I've found and saved:

1 package taco seasoning

1 can chicken breast

1 can rotella

can drained chili Beans

reat crockpot meal with lots of Protein and freezes great too! Enjoy!

  • Canned chicken breast chicken marinated in Italian dressing. (Best after few hours in fridge)
  • Egg salad with dill seasoning
  • Canned chicken breast chicken with pesto, goat cheese, and sundried tomatoes (I put 3 canned chicken undrained in crockpot with pesto, for few hours then top with goat cheese and sundried tomatoes (I use Classico Sundried Tomato Pesto and Knorr Creamy Pesto Sauce)
  • I make tortilla Soup with a store bought rotisserie chicken, taco seasoning, black Beans, chili powder, can of rotel, 2 cans of cream of chicken soup, one soup can filled with Water.

Tofu is great. Just get the firm kind packed in Water, drain VERY well, cut up and freeze it. I usually take frozen pieces, dry fry them and eat them with a boullion and soy sauce dip. Cauliflower sounds good, but if I eat it I can probably blast myself across the Atlantic.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
