Mindy78 372 Posted October 13, 2016 How long does this fabric tape stay on? I know itchy is healing but I generally have sensitive skin especially with fabric tape. Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App
Sai 785 Posted October 13, 2016 My surgeon wanted me to take the bandages off after day 2 or 3 to let it air out. I also applied Neosporin ointment (they now have an anti-itch, anti-scar ointment.
trekker954 421 Posted October 13, 2016 They sat about two weeks, some of mine were on a tad longer. They say not to pull them off. Most of mine curled up and if it were over two weeks I'd help it along in a hot shower. They all were healing nicely. Don't touch if they are oozing Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
singerbabe 29 Posted October 13, 2016 I was told not to take mine off until they fell off, but I was really itchy like you are and ended up having an allergic reaction to the strips. I got all red and had blisters in some places from them. Keep a close eye on them and if it continues or you notice a blister call your doctor and ask them what you should do. lalame 56 Posted October 17, 2016 At my first post apt 2 weeks after surgery, i was told I could remove them. I had a horrible allergic reaction to the tape/glue. Doc gave me a steroid cream prescription to put around my incisions. I also put Neosporin on the actual incisions.
