Travelher 915 Posted October 13, 2016 Have you tried warming your Water? I find I'm having difficulty with anything cold. I don't like tea, so I've been boiling Water and adding crystal light and sipping. With cravings not sure what to tell you. im feeling hungry too pretty frequently. I combat the "real food" cravings by replicating a bariatric version. we just had thanksgiving last weekend. I blended some of the foods with bouillon into a thanksgiving Soup so I didn't feel like I was missing out. I"m in full liquids for another 2 weeks so making a variety of Soups to cope with the food boredom at this state. I'd kill for a soft boiled egg right now... nadinexx 2 Posted October 13, 2016 My Bariatric nurse said it was dumping syndrome and I've read somewhere that being dehydrated makes it worse but I can't stomach that much drink so don't know what to do. I think that's what I'm going through boredom of the Soups I've tried so many different ones feel like I hate Soup now lol but I start puree foods tomorrow so really hoping that helps a little x Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App

This is a dangerous path - it's a form of an eating disorder. Also - you can get calories and sugars just from chewing. Your stomach also starts the digestion process scan cause acid. Try drinking different temps. Be sure to take a PPI and anti-nausea meds.
kjones1 14 Posted October 30, 2016 I've been there. sugar free Popsicles saved me the 1st month post surgery (and still do on occasion). They count toward your liquids. I also craved certain foods - being on liquids only is HARD. But it does get easier the further out you get. Just hang in there. -Kelly
nadinexx 2 Posted November 11, 2016 Thanku everyone for replying it helped knowing I wasn't the only one feeling this way. I'm as of today 6 weeks post op and doing much better it's been a struggle but since eating different food instead of liquid it's been much easier.i think it's because I just needed more solid foods than liquid.ive realised that it's a mental struggle that we have to overcome aswell and overcoming bad habits which I am doing slowly but surely taking it day by day but I'm determined to do it and feeling very good for the future I've lost 2 stone since surgery but 7 stone from the beginning of my journey still have abit to lose but I will do this and I hope everyone else succeeds with there journey xx Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App

You could hurt your tummy. Plus, it probably won't taste or feel good.

marieac2 85 Posted November 13, 2016 My Dr told me to wait 4-6 months before taking any alcohol. He also said to be very very careful, you can get drunk very fast.. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
Hollyhock 62 Posted November 19, 2016 Hi everyone I'm 12 days post op form having a gastric bypass surgery and I'm cravingggg for a glass or red wine is okay?anyone please reply me☹️☹️ Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I don't know. The first surgeon I went to when I was preparing for a sleeve told me no alcohol for a year. Alcohol is an extremely concentrated sugar. She said I would eventually be able to tolerate a few sips now and then, but because you don't break it down the same way, just a few sips will get you very drunk. Also, it becomes much is easier to become addicted to alcohol and there are a number of people who fall into substituting alcohol addiction for food addiction. So if you drink wine, be very careful about it. You should probably check with a medical professional first.
