My surgery was 10/10. I had the BGS, gallbladder removed, hernia repair and the had to repair a gastric diverticulitis. When I drink or lay down for a while my shoulders and upper chest kind of hurt. This is from the gas used in surgery I think. I do lots of walking and sit up straight when drinking. I make sure to swallow small amounts but it's still a bit like swallowing an air bubble. Would Gasx strips help this? Thanks guys!!!

Absolutely. I used it for both my lapband surgery and revision surgery. It's was a lifesaver for me.

If it is from the gas they put into your abdomen for surgery, Gas X won't help. If it's because you are swallowing air, then yes it should.

Call your surgeon for advice, please? You paid him well.

I used Gas X Strips and they do not help the gas and air that you are feeling. The only thing you can do is walk walk walk walk walk.

Thanks guys! Ends up I have two kinds of gases running through I guess. Lol! Doc said Gasx will help with the intestines and walking us helping the shoulders/upper torso. Oh the gasses we passes! Lol

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
