What if I cheat on pre-op diet? Wine?!

Recommended Posts

Okay- I know the lecture, but I have to do a 7 day liquid diet for Ortiz (only because I didn't want to choose the other ideas) and no alcohol for 2 weeks. I know I will screw up my liver and maybe my chances for surgery - - but I am so stressed out and messed up about my weight and being a new Mommy and all - I know - EXCUSES - but I just had one glass of red wine and I really like that one glass at night to calm me down from work, life, being fat, etc., etc. I don't know if I can go 2 weeks without it, plus no food too? I went 9 months preggers without it and them 4 months breastfeeding without wine, but I could eat then. Now I gotta do both! If give up my glass, and munchies too, then whaddoIdo? Whine, whine, wine - - - - - Hit me with the truth, i guess, but go easy!

My first question to you would be

Do you Really want to lose the weight?

if you do then follow the doctors orders. If you dont then dont have the surgery.

Personaly, I would rather be on liquids for 2 months and have a healthier body after then to eat the whole time and wine about why I am fat.

You know why you shouldnt be drinking. So listen and follow it.

Well the options are this..

Don't follow the diet, and risk being cut from breastbone to pubes. If you don't shrink down your liver, you may not be able to do it laproscopically, because those little rods can't hold up super huge livers.. and if you're overweight (and drinking alcohol doesn't help), your liver is a biggun.

Or.. go these 2 weeks, and be strong.. shrink that liver, and just have a few small scars.

Not to mention, being opened up all the way also makes healing time a LOT longer, and the surgery quite a bit more invasive, with risks of infection, etc.

That's how I gave up all the yummy good foods I wanted. I didn't have to do liquid until the last 3 days, but I had to do No sugar, No Fried, No Salt for a month.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
