One odd fact about you

Recommended Posts

@@shedo82773, you may not be able to find out which ancestor to blame for your funny toe. The closest I come to your situation is that no one knows how I turned out left-handed. Anyway, I hope you don't trip over the toe when you're barefoot.

@@Who'sThere, your friend most definitely is beautiful as is her friend. My second hope here is that she doesn't mind your putting her picture up in this den of dubious characters.

WLS, thank you. I chose this pic because it's already public. Her husband is a photographer and this is a picture he has used to advertise.

I drink my milk straight from the cow's udder.

And I delivered my neighbor's baby in her bedroom. I was an RN, working in OB at the time. Really bad snowstorm, her husband was gone, and the baby came before the paramedics could arrive. It was a girl. They named her Maura (kind of like Mary, right?) She's a civil engineer now.

Sorry, that's two facts.

Mine isn't really odd, but I do love it for a couple reasons. :) In my line of work I get to meet some pretty awesome people. One of my favorites was my idol Aretha Franklin. This pic was taken (clearly) before we both had weight loss surgery. That's kind of why I love it...you know, because me and my pal Aretha have so much in common. lol

@@proudgrammy Thank you! From what I can tell, she's done very well with her surgery. I'll tell you a funny story about that day with her. She was incredibly gracious and kind, but everyone who was there was instructed to NOT TOUCH HER. Even if we photographed with her, we could stand next to her, but not put our arm around her or touch her in any way. So basically everyone just snapped candids. I didn't care, though. I was hanging out with ARETHA FRANKLIN!!! LOL

I like to collect potato chips that look like famous serial killers.

(Naaaah, I don't. But that would be a very odd fact if it was true.) :)

I about choked on my coffee!! LOL NOPE I don't trip when I'm barefoot!! LOL Altho I have never been told that I am graceful. LOL I had an Aunt that seemed to be jealous of me if I went to work she did at the same line of work if I bought something she bought it too. LOL She made sure that I was told many times that I was clumsy. HHMM it is no wonder I had dippty dip do for confidence!! RIGHT

I am a beauty product *****. I own about 150 bottles of OPI and Zoya nail polish. My dressing area looks like a mini Sephora. I can't get enough of eyeshadows and I own hundreds. Also, it's not a good day unless I have glitter on somewhere on my body. Yes I am a 15 year old trapped in a 45 year old body!!

Love reading everyone's responses.

We are soul mates.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
