Help! I think I'm dying

Recommended Posts

Whoever can help me please!! I am so worried I think I'm going to be seriously ill. I had my sleeve on 9/22 i haven't been able to eat or keep anything down.... i vomit everything. I'm afraid I'm dehydrated. I called my doctor he told me that eventually it will get better and to try to get some Water in. But I'm seeing everyone here eating and being ok is this normal?

Unfortunately everyone is different. Do you still have nausea meds? Try taking those before you try and drink or eat

I have days I'm good and others that I am struggling like you. I was sleeved 19th of September. If you feel that you are in serious trouble go to the ER, get pumped with fluids. Look for unstable gait, blurred vision, hallucinations, chills, sweats joint pains big muscle aches confusion those could mean bad dehydration or possible infection. I'm not a doctor but this is what I was told. It will get better but don't try to carry on if it is bad.

If you think your dying go to the hospital. Being dehydrated is really bad, they could at least give you fluids to help.

Hope it gets better soon xx

When something is really wrong, it is normal to get a feeling of impending doom. It's your body telling you to seek help. So I suggest you go to urgent care. If your doc is just saying it will get better and not telling you to come in, id question him as a doc for sure! Are you urinating regularly? If not, that is the first sign of dehydration and that can result in danger if not addressed.

Poor nutrition, in extreme cases can result in potassium deficiency which makes you at high risk for cardiac arrest. Also, there are many Vitamins that your body needs to function and if you aren't getting them, it needs to be addressed immediately.

I am no doctor but I am a nurse and have been for years. So please take this advise and get checked out. Best wishes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
