Chew well. If you eat fast, it will result in a horrible retching. At least that was my result.

So yea I vomited not because it's fried but because chicken doesn't sit well yet I try it every way baked boiled leg thigh breast it's just not my friend yet 8 weeks post op and its still frustrating

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Alot of people have issues with chicken unless very moist or mixed with gravy, broth, etc. Someone talked about cooking chicken in crockpot with broth and shredding it when done (like pulled pork).

meats like chicken that tend to be dry can hard. In addition to Kristen's suggestions, I usually have something to dip it in for added moistness. Plain old yellow mustard is super low cal/low carb. Or I'll take some plain nonfat greek yogurt and add some herbs or spices to it, I've even mixed in a little pesto before. The moistness helps the meat go down and sit a little easier. Don't give up - it takes time to figure out what works for you.

I make what I call dirty chicken and it's quite moist and good. I take boneless skinless chicken thighs and in a skillet put a bit of olive oil. I put in the chicken and add some low sodium Worcestershire sauce and salt free garlic seasoning and cook on low heat till done through. It is moist and very flavorful.

How much are you eating before that happens? How quickly are you eating it? I find that I am only able to eat about the equivalent of 1 1/2 chicken wings. Or 2 wing dings annnnnnnnnnd I have to eat it over 30 -45 maybe even an hour. I cant eat it in 5-6 bites even if they are small. I get quite uncomfortable and feel the need to vomit. That hasn't happened in awhile but I do find when I eat certain foods (salmon, brisket, chicken) I fill up very quickly and not the 2-3 ounces that everyone boasts about. For me it could be 1/2 ounce to an ounce. IF I am able to eat 3 ounces it will take me at least 2 sittings to get it in. ALSO--- I can't eat other foods with it like veggies or any other sides. It just doesn't work. SO I could be wrong but it may not be that it doesn't sit well with you-- like me-- you may not be able to eat as much of it as you think you can.

Have you tried just eating like 1 or 2 bites chew really well and swallow then stop for an hr? Do you still vomit? If you can tolerate a couple bites and sit on that for an hour-- you may just have to scale back on foods that are a little denser. Especially chicken with skin and coating. That may be something you have to enjoy over 2-3 sittings.

How far out are you?

I swear these people that post eating fried chicken are trolls. Who in their right mind would want to eat the same $#!T that got them to the point of needing this surgery in the first place. Don't they realize this surgery isn't the cure to eat whatever the he!! you want.

I eat chicken but soft, naked, chicken breast. I can't imagine eating skins or breaded would sit well or be best choice for me. I am almost 4 months post op

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
