QueenOfTheTamazons 634 Posted October 13, 2016 meats like chicken that tend to be dry can hard. In addition to Kristen's suggestions, I usually have something to dip it in for added moistness. Plain old yellow mustard is super low cal/low carb. Or I'll take some plain nonfat greek yogurt and add some herbs or spices to it, I've even mixed in a little pesto before. The moistness helps the meat go down and sit a little easier. Don't give up - it takes time to figure out what works for you.Right before surgery i was obsessed with sricha ranch. I wonder if I can come up with a healthy version using greek yogurt when my time comes. HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/
mr1121 59 Posted October 13, 2016 chicken parm is an awesome way to eat chicken. Just a tiny bit of sauce no fried chicken. ( bare) and a lot of cheese. All protien. My husband does this and he had the bypass. He would never want to eat fried food. He has lost 250lbs since sept 28 2015 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

mr1121 59 Posted October 13, 2016 I don't understand why so many ppl go back to their old lifestyle. You all did this for a reason, just remember that. I know a lady who had it done and is bigger than me before surgery Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App 1 SandraD_PDX reacted to this

It's basically Greek yogurt and avocados and lemon, garlic and spices. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App 1 SandraD_PDX reacted to this

He ate it fine at 6wk post op. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Raynbolite 302 Posted October 13, 2016 I had one buffalo chicken tender cut into small pieces on a small salad today. I'm on my 9wk, this is the first breaded anything I've had. I don't think people are necessary throwing away all their progress or going back to their old unhealthy habits to have one treat of a piece of fried chicken. I don't think it's fair to judge them. I don't know how they eat all the other time or how much exercise they've done? Isn't it all about balance? LisaMergs 2,854 Posted October 14, 2016 Hold on. I eat fried / Broasted chicken. But... I remove the skin/breading before consuming. It is very tender cooked this way. Just need to remember to eat only the Protein. Not the carbs and grease peeps. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App No. Depending upon the surgery and what you want out of it- eating breaded fried chicken makes absolutely NO SENSE. See my above post- fried chicken is very moist- BUT TAKE THE BREADING OFF! No WAY at 6.5 months out I'm touching that stuff- even considering I actually follow plan day to day. Raynbolite 302 Posted October 14, 2016 I follow the program too...by the book. But my one breaded tender still stayed in my calories, carb and Protein program. I track my food consistently. It was a treat...if I did it every week, yea, that's a problem. But I think a treat once in a blue moon is a mood booster. chycky 671 Posted October 14, 2016 Sorry I will say it and stone me if you want treats got me my f@t @ss I am trying to rethink that or adopt changes. I could see at or near goal attempting a non flour breading. And I am not saying I have completely perfect but I am not accepting "normal" ways of eating. I have a new normal and I hope to stick to it and my exercise routine forever.
