So discourage

Recommended Posts

So I been with my lapband about 3 yrs now lost a good 87 pounds. Was at 161 but not without headaches so I was getting real bad heartburn taking 2 pills a day sometimes even 3. I moved back home from Sc was there 1 yr waiting on an appointment that never came. So once back in mass November of 2015 made an appointment with my doctor. Went in on January so find out my lapband was to tight for over a year I was at 5 1/2 cc my band holds 11. To top it off when i was in Sc last 6 months I came out with Thyroid the one that gets you fat. Anyways my doctor removed all my cc so I was starving for 1 yr and I ate any ways went to 200. So we kept adjusting it for months last month we went up to 5cc and again my heartburn started.I'm at 4cc and not feeling any restrictions. I am just so discourage and depress because I am gaining not losing with 4cc. I get to go back today hope he has good news of how we can get this fixed. I don't wanna go back to 250 cause if I do I will have to take meds for diabetes and I don't want that at all. Has anyone gone through this?

I had the lap band with constant discomfort. It was removed when the sleeve was done. It's an option you can discuss with your doctor.

I had mine revised to a bypass. It was a huge relief and much better. Bypass is better than a sleeve if you are prone to acid reflux.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
