Sunflower seeds are a great choice if you are far enough out of surgery to tolerate any crunchy foods and you want to stop losing weight and start gaining,

There are a lot of people who post about inapropriate foods (tacos, pork chops, ice cream cake) and it is frusterating the regulars. Your first resource should be your surgeon, as each if us is on a slightly different plan. After that, search the forums.

If you cant find the answer, post a question with enough information that people can actually help you. Otherwise it comes across kind of troll like.

@@MyJourney929 Each surgeon will have their own recommendation for when it's ok to eat nuts and seeds. My surgeon told me a week ago it is a healthy food to eat now that I'm on full solids at one month.. Moderation is key but that can be easy as it's a nutrient dense food so you should be satisfied with very few of them.

For the record, eating a few seeds does not equate to cake or tacos from a health or nutrition perspective.

Don't feel shy about asking questions as that is what this forum is for. I agree it might be good to do a search first to see if your topic has been addressed, but also we're here to help each other. You joined us this month (welcome!) so you can't be expected to already be familiar with the vast amount of information and knowledge here that our vets have. Some find it frustrating to see the same or similar questions over and over, but we're a broad group and all in very different places on our journey. I suspect the vets may have asked a repeat question once or twice when new too :)

Thank so much. That made me feel so much better. Yes I am new to this, I'm still figuring things out. And maybe i ask questions that are silly or that some may feel I should know the answer to already , but I hate sarcasm I rather people just don't answer the question if they going to be sarcastic about it. But again thank you for being so understandable

@@Shell Renewed The reason for not having seeds or nuts isn't because of nutritional values - it is not usually allowed for several weeks even during the solid stage.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
