Belching, Flatulence and bloating

Recommended Posts

After 10 years of having my gastric bypass surgery, I am experiencing excessive bloating, belching and flatulence...any recommendations that can alleviate these symptoms?

To start i think you should see ur doctor to talk about this. I have notices that the antigas chewables help alot with belching etc. Also look closely at what your eating, how much your eating, the speed at which you eat etc. If anything there has changed you may be getting some pushback from your body thats alerting you to this.

Congrats on 10years!

I'm 3 years out and let me tell you I have lots of gas and bloating. I can't eat much meat for Protein so I eat BEANS! I take PAPAYA ENZYMES they are a natural aid and they help with gas and aid with my digestion. I buy them at Walmart for less than $5.00. They have saved me many times. Might be worth looking into. Good Luck

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
