melrey521 5 Posted October 9, 2016 So I am post op 12 days and getting ready for the pureed stage. As I look up things on line all post-op diet plans look different. I am craving chicken noodle Soup and noticed that on one website it says Soups with soft noodles can be used during the clear liquid stage. Has anyone tried this??? leebick 448 Posted October 10, 2016 I'm staying away from carbs like noodles, but noodles are not a clear liquid. You might be able to mash and mush the noodles enough to get away with it on the pureed stage, but honestly, IMO there's not enough Protein in chicken noodle Soup to be choosing to fill your sleeve with noodles. aortiz1987 10 Posted October 10, 2016 I'm 5days post and just had chicken noodle Soup. I however didn't have the noddles. Just the brother and a few pieces of chicken Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
christinah 14 Posted October 10, 2016 I had chicken noodle Soup and it was fine. Just chew the noodles and meat. It wasn't bad at all. Yes you still need Protein cause it's not enough but no problem having some soup! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
ineffably_yb 8 Posted October 10, 2016 Always best to use a food processor to make sure chucks are extremely minimal. Your pouch may still be swollen and any chunks may cause discomfort Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Dozxgigivsg 0 Posted September 25, 2018 Campbells chicken noodle Soup is the only stuff i've have for 2 weeks. Today I heard i's the worst toy can have because of the carbs. Omg i feel horrible.

You can have the broth, but not the noodles. If you can make homemade and strain the nutritional value doubles
Frustr8 7,886 Posted September 25, 2018 Had chicken Won Ton Soup the other evening, of course couldn't eat the Won Ton, but the broth was so rich and tasty! Maybe when I am cleared for Eggs--- Egg Drop soup ? And my current favorite China Buffet soup- Hot Sour Soup. How Bariatric friendly is that? My local place does not use celery in their formulation although some do. A very good BariBud Ellie123 says I would like like Thai Lemongrass, she's been right about many other things. I am getting antsy to get off bone broths although they are good and sort of nice bases.🍝 1 MargoCL reacted to this
CrankyMagpie 509 Posted September 25, 2018 A lot of my surgeon's patients order strained chicken noodle Soup at a local restaurant chain during the liquid phase. The restaurant doesn't mind taking the noodles and meat out and just serving you the broth (hey, it makes some other customers really happy to get the extra!), and you get the full flavor profile and some of the comforting aspects of chicken noodle soup without anything that might hurt you. In the puree stage I'd be tempted to make my own, instead, and to use veggie noodles instead of, you know, Pasta noodles. And then run that through a blender, of course. You can also buy chicken noodle soup mix from this site, I think? and from DietDirect. That'll have more Protein than Campbell's.

But when I used to live on the other side of town, that was always my go to in place of homemade chicken noodle. I definitely think once you're cleared for eggs, Egg Drop soup can become a staple. (not my favorite soup at all, so no envy there. LOL ) The bone broths are what helped me through that liquid phase, not sure what I would've done without it. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
