ella37 455 Posted October 8, 2016 Sorry, I know it's gross but I'm on day 3 of mostly liquids. My dr said I could cheat with a bit of tuna or chicken so I've been having that as well. Ive been getting plenty of Water so I'm not dehydrated. It just keeps coming. I just feel awful in general, I'm tired, I'm HOT (have no idea why but I'm pouring sweat) and just feeling gross. Is this how it will be post op? I feel like I'm going to pass out and I've had enough of the diarrhea.
WifeyMaterial 139 Posted October 8, 2016 This is a first for me maybe you should take to your dr and see what this is happening and maybe your body isnt used to the liquid diet how long do you have to be on it Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App

kelliev2015 136 Posted October 9, 2016 I would try and skip the chicken and tuna for a few days and see if that helps. That is a lot to eat a few days post op and I noticed when I ate too much in the first few weeks,. I would sweat profusely.

Caribear 184 Posted October 10, 2016 Are you lactose intolerant? Maybe try switching to a non-dairy Protein Shake and see if that helps.

Age, gender, allergies, stomach flora, history, etc etc all have their contributions. I spent 4 weeks pre op on liquids and then the typical several weeks of liquids post op. My poo was not liquid except for a couple incidents - but I know I have a history of tolerating about everything very well with few GI upsets or issues. It was hard. But I'd suppose it'd be harder with diarrhea! Your trouble might have something to do with the brand of shakes your using - or maybe you're just sensitive and this is how it will be!? My clinic was always happy for me to reach out so I'd suggest as others to give them a call. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ryan_86 335 Posted October 10, 2016 The same thing happened to me pre-op: liquid in, liquid out. Post-op, I'm finding I'm more likely to be constipated than have diarrhea. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Browneyedgirl41 176 Posted October 10, 2016 Same thing happened to me. I chalked it up to nerves/my IBS.
