Hi, my name is Heather.

I'm from Sacramento Ca. I had the RYN Gastric bypass on 8/22/16.

My starting weight was 357

My surgery day weight was 300

Today I weight 260

I am wanting to find new friends who can relate to my struggles, my achievements, and goals.

Seeing as how we all have done this there must be a very good reason to your decision.

Mine personally I want children, because of my weight I had very abnormal cycles, which made it impossible to conceive my Doctor suggested weight loss and I felt like I tried everything. So this surgery seemed like a great option for my husband and I.

Please tell me.about you.

Foods you have tried.

Foods you can't handle.

Your favorite Proteins.

Meal ideas.

I would happiness share mine as well

Tried food: Beans, cheese, oatmeal, wonton Soup, ultra lean hamburger with cheese, pickers, sherbert, vegetable stir fry.

Foods I can't handle: sugar, greasy food of any kind, Protein Shakes, applesauce, Pasta, eggs, any type of bread.< /p>

Favorite Proteins: Alvarado, fish, nuts Protein packed Cereal.< /p>

One oh my all time fave is: spaghetti squash. With Alfredo sauce and canned chicken I know it's sound eeeeeeew buts trust me you'll love it

Hi Heather :) I'm Nicole

I'm from North Ridgeville, OH. I lived in Walnut Creek, CA at one time.

I had my gastric Bypass on 9/20.

Starting weight: 319

Surgery weight: 293

Current weight: 276

I finally did this for myself. I have a three year old and 15 year old. I wanted to be healthier to do things with my kids. When I explained to my little one why mommy had surgery so she could play with him more, he goes "Oh, that will be good." Lol. I also just want to be able to go places and feel comfortable. Not look around to see if I am the biggest person in the room and feel ashamed when I realize I am. I am seeking comfort in my own body.

Only being a few weeks out, my diet is fairly limited.

Tried: Rotisserie chicken with FF Greek yogurt and curry (yum!), no bean chili, lean ground turkey and chicken, FF refried Beans, FF cottage cheese

I haven't found much I can't handle yet. Had a sensitive stomach prior to surgery, so I am trying to be very careful.

I found a great WLS cook book on Amazon. Tried the teriyaki turkey burgers last night (puréed for me), and it was fantastic.

I am doing much better. Dehydration is no joke, lol. I have been sewing to take my minds off things. I am making a Marshall from Paw Patrol costume for my son. If you're into crafts at all, that may help. Or as a lot of others say, walking, biking, etc, heh.

Hey Heather! I'm in Sac as well!

Had RNY on 10/3/16. Still on pureed foods, so I don't have a ton of ideas on what I'll not be able to handle - so far only eggs have given me problems. My favorite is refried Beans right now.

Would love to chat and help support each other if you're interested. Hope all is well!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
