I think it would make me scared! I'm having the revision after lap band failure and complications and that's what I am terrified of my horrible relationship with food...I eat bad things now and feel guilty, but..... that make me eat more etc that's my pattern...Don't worry we are not perfect and we are far from it it's done and over just move forward I think this time I'm going to seek counsling and group meetings more frequently to see if that helps with my love hate relationship with food.. However, we are all made different and think different thats why this forum is so great to see and hear different perspectives:) YOU CAN AND WILL DO THIS!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure how you'd define "too much" because I'm only able to eat 1/4 cup before I feel full. I can't define 1/4 cup as too much, no matter how you slice it :)

I'd have to say no. I am 8 days post-op, and I had my highest daily calorie count today -- 225. I'm getting 40 grams of Protein and 64 oz of Water in, but 225 calories is the best I have been able to do. (But, I'm still on Clear liquids and Protein powder. I start full liquids tomorrow, so maybe I can break 300!)

Not really, i had ice cream and birthday cake today, im talking a tablespoon of each, im waiting for the dumping to begin, but I don't feel guilty, i feel empowered to be able to stop at the amount I had.

I'm a week out, had my sleeve on Oct 1st.

No guilt at all! I eat what my sleeve allows me to and if I go off my plan and taste something unhealthy, I don't beat myself up about it. Why would I?

If I started gaining weight, I would examine my food intake and adjust it though.

My first mushy food was the dreaded banana. I was so happy to be eating a "proper" food after three months on liquids (I was very sick post op) that I ate it with glee. I knew the nutritional value, I tried Protein everyday first, did all the right things.

But that banana made me very happy, stopped my leg cramps and dizziness, gave my meds something to bind to in my system.

Point being is that you have to eat to live and sometimes we eat things that might not be good for our weightloss.

Feeling guilty about it is a waste of energy.

If you don't like the choice you made, make a better one next time, use that energy to go for a walk or to meal plan for success tomorrow. But don't give headspace to guilt!

U shouldn't feel bad... Had my sleeve 28th of sept.... I just seem to be hungry all the time especially crave Beans... Baked Beans .... I can't eat more than 2 oz. but satisfies me and can't seem to break it.... I know it takes time but already seem to be a failure with no will power!!!

You are not a failure for eating 2 oz of baked beans!!!!

Just be careful of your new stomach, speak with your healthcare providers. You are still healing both physically, mentally and emotionally!

Hang in there! Make food choices that make you feel good about yourself.

Thank you .... I understand everything just trying to put into practice a new healthy lifestyle which I know takes time... Just a rollercoaster for me right now.. Been injecting myself 3 times a day with heparin for past 12 days. Tired and emotional but I feel great... Have to adjust my emotions.... I know it will get better... It's truly a new journey for me!!!

Those injections can be annoying. But they will be over soon. As the weight comes off, loads of hormones are flooding your system. Emotional rollercoaster is normal!

You will do great!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
