hudjess 95 Posted October 7, 2016 Well my medical records were sent to the weight loss clinic. they called me to let me know they got them and said there is bad news. We are missing a record from 2015 so we need that before we can submit to insurance. Well I have to go through the whole process again and get a 2015 record from them but they want me to go through the 4 week wait period for them to even receive it. Is there any other way I can get around it? Can I go to the clinic and get it, I know that they outsource to a company called health port and they take their time with it and I can not wait another month. Thanks for reading in advance (:

KristenLe 5,979 Posted October 8, 2016 @@hudjess Do they have a patient portal for their electronic health record? Sometimes you can get record information from there. I don't think 4 weeks is legitimate if it is a current physician who should be releasing info to a specialist. That's a delay in care.

KristenLe 5,979 Posted October 8, 2016 @@hudjess I would try. They also probably have some standards they are supposed to meet - like responding to requests for records within 72 hours. Can your surgeon send a request for information indicating it is needed immediately? There's no way it should take 4 weeks.
sc101071 398 Posted October 8, 2016 Health port records can be accessed online for a fee. You might call a couple of PI attorneys and offer a fee and expenses if they will access for you.
