Sai 785 Posted October 15, 2016 @@WLSResources/ClothingExch You're very welcome . The only reason I knew about it was my first week with the sleeve I was expecting to not be hungry at all, and it freaked me out (kindasorta hehe) that I was hungry all the time. It dropped off about 16-17 days later after the swelling went down. With my band, it was acid that mimicked hunger, bleh. You are so right, that a weight-losers work is never done! I'm always confused when I get hungry, trying to figure out what type if any hunger is it. /cry
rosemarie 7 Posted November 27, 2016 Hello, I was banded November 14, 2016. I did not receive a fill during surgery. My first fill is supposed to be 6 weeks after surgery. I am hungry all the time too! I have hunger pains as well. I'm still doing puréed food. Even mash potatoes leave me hungry after 15 minutes. I started drinking a Protein shake before bed so I will not wake up hungry as a bear.

Treadmillwalker 486 Posted December 2, 2016 I've also recently been banded, three days ago now. I am having a similar experience, wasn't hungry day of surgery but the next few days I've been drinking broth, shakes and apple juice and although not really physically hungry, constantly having cravings and thinking of food. Today was worse, and I even started eating cottage cheese, apple sauce and Peanut Butter to try and stay full but still constantly drooling at the hubby's meals hope I can tough it out til first fill!! Good luck to both of us chicky! Sent from my D5803 using the BariatricPal App You may want to focus on more Protein as it will help you feel full. Sugar in apple sauce can make you feel hungry. Sai 785 Posted December 2, 2016 I've never heard of "healing hunger" and can't imagine feeling hungry at all right after surgery. But that's neither here nor there. When I was banded it was still standard to install a band with no saline. That's changed, as you know. It doesn't mean that you won't need an adjustment or perhaps more than one to get your band to the point of being your ideal dance partner. I say this not to discourage you, but so that you know what may come. There is no one-experience-fits-all. I knew one lucky chap whose empty band was all he ever needed. You may find that, as you meet others with bands, its fun or interesting to compare saline levels. Be aware, though, that the amount of saline in a band means nothing. What is significant is having the amount does the job. You'll be fine. Doh you're right hehe. I was thinking of the sleeve. I didn't have healing hunger or acid hunger with the band at all. Head hunger, yes. ^^ Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App
