16 days out and doing great

Recommended Posts

Hi all. 16 days ago I was sleeved. Getting my Water in and eating normally... meaning chewing vs puree and tolerating all foods. Cant eat any raw veggies; cook them up soft, Soups are wonderful, tuna, chicken, fish, of course I tried pizza and that was too much. Too doughy and heavy in stomach. I am eating small portions, slower pace at the table, exercising every day and happy. Down 16 lbs since surgery. This, I can do. No nausea, have not vomited at all, no bathroom problems either.

I'm 16 days out as well!!! Down 22 lbs since preop diet, and the difference is noticeable! Anything with red sauce is not my friend right now;(. Kinda stinks because I love chili which is such a great source of Protein. Baby steps, right?

It's more emotional than physical for me at the moment. Not interested in eating or drinking but know I have to. I'm trying day by day. Some days I have really good consumption other days I don't. I know it will get better just have to take it day by day

@@De6270 oooh, if you like pizza, try cauliflower pizza. I'm so addicted to that recipe. I'm on my phone, otherwise I'd link you to recipe but there are lots of them.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
