G8rgrl72 18 Posted October 7, 2016 Ok....I am now on my 5th post op day...I look 8 months pregnant and feel it. I've been taking Mirilax which seems to work BUT I still look and feel so uncomfortably bloated...no kidding....I look like I'm pregnant about to give birth at any time. I weight significantly more than I did preop. Please tell me this is normal and there are others who've been through this? How long should I plan to suffur? reree6898 1,164 Posted October 7, 2016 This is totally normal. You are puffed up from all the IV fluids and gas they put in you while at the hospital. It can take several days for all to leave your system. Your also likely swelled from having major surgery. Try to walk when you can and get your Water in and you will start seeing it go down soon. MaryCatherine 173 Posted October 7, 2016 I gained 19 pounds on the day of surgery. My surgeon laughed and told me to go home and pee it out. It was gone after a week.

Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App I had lost 8 lbs during my liquid preop diet but then gained about 3 lbs the night before. Now I'm 6 lbs up...and all in my belly.
