Hi everyone. I'm 52 days in and down 44 lbs. However, my weight loss has stalled for the last 10 days.

I've always consumed a fair amount of coffee, but admittedly I've had far more than usual over the last couple of weeks.

I always get my Water. Protein always 80g +. Cals 1100 - 1300.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I wouldn't think caffeine has anything to do with that since you are getting enough Water, and caffeine actually boosts metabolism and help you burn fat (lipolysis). I know stalls are annoying though. :(

@@spskcmo Stalls are normal. I don't think it has anything to do with drinking coffee unless you're adding lots of sugar and cream. You lost 44 lbs in 52 days - your body needs time to adjust. It's surprising that you are just experiencing your first stall.

I doubt coffee is causing your stall. I looked back to see where I was at 52 days and I also saw a stall. Stalls will come and go no matter how careful you are. Enjoy your coffee and know that things will start moving again.

Thanks folks -

I appreciate everyone's input and it looks like coffee isn't the contributor! I carefully reviewed my intake records and I'm not doing anything I didn't before. I guess this is just the first stall!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
