Oldfashioned diet and stalling for 10 days already...

Recommended Posts

Just venting...

I have been doing well and had a steady weight loss at my max 1500 cal diet with 100g Proteins. Then the dreaded stall came 10 days ago... I'm so sick of waiting for it to be over. I reduced my cal intake to 1300 cal yesterday and still nothing. I know it needs to happen, but still, it has been going on long enough.

I HATE IT!!!

Good luck on your upcoming surgery. It is a very different experience than dieting.

I'm almost 14 months post op and I just finally broke a month-long stall. Be prepared for them to happen after surgery! Still, despite this stall and the stalls I've had pretty much every month since surgery, I'm down 194 pounds since surgery. It adds up, and in the end, the stalls will just be a distant memory but your health and weight loss will be a reality. Good luck to you.

Thanks for your comments! I know I'm just beeing impatient. Just over 6 weeks to my surgery and I was getting a few appointments via mail today that my anesthesiologist wanted me to do as a precaution. I will be very busy in the upcoming weeks anyway, so the distraction will be welcome.

It's getting cold here in Finland and the darkness does nothing for me. It's close to freezing during the night, so I had to get out all my winter clothes.

I will be sad to see my beautiful and warm down jacket getting to big for me, but I will rather take the weight loss.

In case you don't know, Finland is the home country of Santa Claus (the North pole is a bad rumor), so be good people, I have connections! ????

Good luck with the process and the journey.

Yes, stalls happen ..... my last one was close to 4 weeks too, annoying but it finally shifted.

Now, I am devastated re Santa Claus! I thought he lived in South Pole :D , as everything is upside down where I live ;)

Stallers,

I've been stalled for a year! Had surgery April 2015 and essentially stopped losing Nov. 2015. Stuck at 200 lbs. Trying for 165 lbs. I like the liquid diet idea. I may give it a try for three days or so.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
