chelsi 0 Posted September 5, 2007 hey there. I had lap band surgery this april 1st, and have some problems, I did not even realize unitl they got severe, and until I talked to other friends with the surgery that this was not normal. Ever since my sugery I have never experiencved a feeling of being "full" instead I just get very painful pinching or burning feelings when I am "full" and I stop. Also, I never have really had the experience of throwing up if I "ate too much" but I have gone through bouts of extreme pain and vomiting a couple hours later. I have lost about 60 lbs since april which is GREAT, but my hair is falling out, and I feel very weak alot. My surgeon suggested that if I take Bontra or Phentermine and do the Atkins diet that my weight would come off even quicker, but I feel too weak to do that I think. I am figuring taht 10 or more pounds amonth is good enough for now. Anyone else expereince burning and pinching sensations. I also have acid reflux now at night that keeps me awake, and my regular doc says I havea GI bleed which I am getting checked by endoscopy this thurs through a different doc. Honestly, you are doing exactly what I would suggest. Having an endoscope. Best of luck on Thursday.
GR8 1 Posted September 12, 2007 Wishing you the best in oyur testing. I have a stange feeling under the right breast - the doctors think it is a nerve that the tube is laying against or rubing that created the sensation. Again - best of luck!
cyndilou29 0 Posted September 15, 2007 Chickie, I have to tell you every single time I log on this board and I see a picture of you I get motivated again. You are such an inspiration!
LJBravado 0 Posted September 16, 2007 Oh my God - you are right to be suspicious. You should not be losing that fast, should not be losing your hair, should not be throwing up and should NOT have acid reflux. See another doc - pronto. Best of luck to you! Mrs Husker 3 Posted September 24, 2007 Chelsie, Did you have your scope and what did it show? Been thinking about you since I read this. Hope everything is alright.
ShineNSta 0 Posted October 11, 2007 Hi Chelsi... I haven't had your experience but by the sounds of it you're suffering from malnutrition (which Hair loss is a sign of) so I certainly wouldn't follow your doctor's suggestion of taking Bontra or Phentermine, or following the Atkins diet at this point, at least until your body adjusts to the changes that are happening. My suggestion would be to buy a good conditioner for your hair, and make sure that you are getting enough vegetables and fish into your diet. If necessary take fish oil supplements which will improve the condition of your hair and skin.
WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted October 18, 2007 How did your doc come up with a diagnosis of a GI bleed before you were even scoped?
