So, I'm in West Palm and we are experiencing Hurricane Matthew. Had to make some preparations, and thought almonds would be a good nonperishable choice...

Annnd now I know salted almonds are my gateway drug can't. Stop. Eating. Almonds.

Hope you are safe and not eating too many almonds. They get to me as well. Have to portion them out carefully. Good non perishable Protein choice though.

Be safe! I haven't gotten any answer to emails from my friend in Wellington. Is it very bad?

Slept right through the hurricane. It jogged northeast, so the worst of it missed us. @@mrsNilla I'm actually in Wellington! I didn't even lose power but I think some in the very south portion of Wellington did. Thanks for everyone's concern. I'm dumping my almonds outside for the squirrels, because I'm clearly not responsible enough to have them in my house!

The only nuts I keep in my house are raw and unsalted (the ones you get in the baking aisle, not the snack aisle). That way I have to roast and flavor them myself if I want something that is better than "okay, that's edible." I'm super-lazy so this is enough of a deterrent to stop me from being able to nosh on them endlessly, which I would otherwise do.

Thanks for letting me know!

The squirrels might be hungry after the hurricane

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
