I have that cookbook coming. Does food taste good to you all? I eat but nothing ever tastes good. My eggs are barely ok. Same for the ricotta bake. I don't mind the portion size or the health aspect, but I would like food to taste good.

Hmmm I think it depends on the food, and maybe my mood, somedays I can enjoy the flavor, other days, it's just blah... I don't think it makes sense, but that's just me. Like today I had the center of a sunny side up egg (trying to get my Protein in) and it taste so goood.

These are just some suggestions: I have 1% cottage cheese and mix it with a tablespoon of Polaners No Sugar Added Jelly, comes in a few flavors and only 10 calories. There are Polly-O cheese sticks that have no carbs but lots of Protein. There are Oikos Greek Yogurts that have no sugar added and 15 Protein grams and come in salted caramel, coffee and chocolate flavor. The container is black and says triple 0. You can also have hummus, tuna salad made with lite mayo or if you are ok with eggs, you can make some egg salad as well.

I just made chicken and salsa. Sliced breast very thin. Put in plastic bag , shake a lot of garlic, Adobe, pepper and shake bag. Put small amount of oil in fry pan and brown each side. Cut up and put in magic bullet add jarred salsa and fresh cilantro and puree. For moisture I added a little almond milk.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
