@@GoldenLife1991 I don't think it's uncommon. What are they saying in the hospital?? Are they giving you anti-nausea meds? Did they do a leak test yet? We don't get discharged the next day regardless - have to stay 2 nights. Hope you feel better soon!

I wasn't even allowed to attempt to sip Water until 24hrs after my surgery. and even then only a tiny sip and wait a bit, then another tiny sip etc. And it was hard - definitely felt a tightness in my chest with each sip. I did get some iv nausea meds because while I didn't vomit, I did feel quite queasy as the anesthesia was working its way out of my system. Then the the morning of the second day before I was discharged I took an oral antinausea med because I had another brief bout of nausea.

Have you discussed your concern with any of the nurses or doctor?

Dannon light and fit is awesome. I am 6 days post surgery and enjoy toasted coconut, strawberry cheesecake, no bits in them. I'm allowed unsweetened applesauce which helped me have first bowel movement on day 4. I'm 6 days post-op. Also drinking premier Protein with no problems.

I couldn't drink Water unless I put some flavor in it. Weird as that sounds. Took me about a month before I could drink again

Update: I ended up staying in the hospital until yesterday. I had meds to stop nausea and acid reflux. Didn't help. Found out my sleeve had a kink in it. Opted to let surgeon correct instead of waiting it out. I would get something strange like that. Lol. Surgeon said he's been sleeving for 12 years and I was his 3rd case with a kink in the sleeve. I came home yesterday but still have to have IV fluids at home to make sure I don't get dehydrated and end back up in the hopital. It sucks, but glad to be home at least. Able to kep a little Water and decaffeinated green tea down. Popcicles as well. That's the only sweet I can do though. Everything else sweet comes back even if I dilute it. Also I've been having this weird foam coming up sometimes. Anyone else experience that?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
