Butterflywarrior 241 Posted October 4, 2016 Is is necessary to have a blender or really that helpful? When you get to puree stage. Can you eat baby food? I noticed no one ever mentioned this as a option so I figured there must be a reason but I don't know what it it??
tmbrett 17 Posted October 4, 2016 My doctors office said baby food is acceptable, add Protein Powder to it. But only smooth not chunky stage
reree6898 1,164 Posted October 4, 2016 I never used a blender at all. For that stage I ate soft cheese (cottage cheese, ricotta etc) Greek yogurt, mashed potatoes with unflavored Protein powder, unsweetened Apple sauce with the unflavored protein powder, things like that. I found no need to eat baby food personally.
Pescador 1,374 Posted October 4, 2016 I never used a blender either. I sure would not eat baby food. I like yummy flavor lol!!!!!!
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted October 4, 2016 I used a food processor, and blended meats with sauces (not broth or water) and then heated them up a little bit. They were very tasty. Baby food is disgusting and I would refuse it on that grounds alone. If you don't find it disgusting, do be careful about what is in it and the macro nutrients. Lots of baby food is high carb, high sugar, and low Protein.< /p>
Butterflywarrior 241 Posted October 4, 2016 Oh good to know about the macro nutrients in baby foods Thanks for the ideas about Protein powder mixes
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted October 4, 2016 Is is necessary to have a blender or really that helpful? When you get to puree stage. Can you eat baby food? I noticed no one ever mentioned this as a option so I figured there must be a reason but I don't know what it it?? I have a blender but rarely use it, but, I never had a puree phase. I went from full liquids to soft foods to soft mechanical foods. I didn't eat baby food. There is plenty of regular, adult food to choose from to meet your Protein and nutritional goals. Dashofpixiedust8 1,469 Posted October 4, 2016 I used my magic bullet a lot. I was able to make delicious low calorie meals and just puréed my portion. Make sure to purée meats with broth, milk, Water, or cooking liquids. I tried baby food and it was disgusting lol don't do it! Dashofpixiedust8 1,469 Posted October 5, 2016 Also FYI the best meats to purée are ones cooked in a slow cooker. They are much softer easier to break down! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

rolosmom7 740 Posted October 5, 2016 I bought a blender for Protein Shakes and smoothies. I found my immersion blender/food processor more helpful for purees. I've used all my kitchen gadgets in the past month.
Leather'nLace 187 Posted October 7, 2016 The only thing I use my blender for is my Protein shake. I take a Premier Protein, add a 1-2 inch piece of banana and a half cup or so of ice. Sticking a chicken breast in the blender just never appealed to me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
cqlleen 13 Posted October 9, 2016 I tried the baby food. It was so gross I spit it out ! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
gemigirl 134 Posted October 9, 2016 I'm glad I got a mini processor - $50. I've done lentil stew, Beans, deli ham & light cream cheese and squash in there. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
