Is dumping different for everyone? I read when you dump you have the vomiting, sweating, heart race as well as the runs. Now me I ate, and it felt like something was stuck in my esophagus so on my ride home from Philadelphia I kept having pains in my stomach I told my husband, all of a sudden out the blue I vomit twice, first all this foam , second some food . It was back to back. Once I vomit I felt no more pain, that's all the symptoms I had , was the vomiting. So I'm wondering did I have dumping or......... Just wondering if I dump differently,

Yani

Maybe you just didn't chew your food well enough...that's kind of what it sounds like, to me. Like something got stuck, couldn't fit through and came back up.

We call that the foamies. It is from eating too much, too fast and not chewing each bite down to mush.

Dumping is when you eat too much sugar and it dumps into the intestines too quickly.

Your food never got to the intestines so did not dump into them.

Well I know it's not from eating eating to much because I actually did not eat all day and I only had two bites if that to eat. I chewed my food very well at least 20-30 chews before swallowing. And the reason I'm asking because dumping doesn't only come from eating sugar, it also comes from eating something high in fat also or when you eat to fast also. Maybe just what I ate did not agree with me I guess but I am so happy that pain is gone

Yeah my husband said the same thing , but as I told him I chewed as long as my but, tolde 20-30 times. I just might have to chew it longer. I know I don't want that feeling anymore

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
