Tomorrow I start my liver reduction shake diet. I'm nervously excited. My surgery is scheduled on the 18th. I'm so excited to start this journey!

Me too. My doctor doesn't require that I do one only that i don't gain weight but to be on the safe side I'm going to do it 14 days before my surgery on 11/9

It was not as hard as I thought it would be. It raised my level of commitment to the whole thing. And I liked getting my cravings under control with the Protein shakes.

What is your liver reduction diet consist of? I am going to Dr. Garcia in Tijuana and it's only for a week. I have a fatty liver so I thought I would do a Protein shake diet for 10 days. My surgery is on October 20th. I'm wondering if I should do it for the full 2 weeks.

My doctor's office (also in TJ) calculated de length of the liquid diet based on your BMI. Protein shakes, broth, Vitamin Water, sugar free popsicles and others. Good luck!

I am about a week into it. I have had a few stumbles but after about 4-5 days you get used to it. Anytime you get a craving drink plenty of Water or non-caloric beverage. Popsicles help too. Good luck!!!

I never got used to it. However, I kept telling myself that there were kids in the world starving. It changed my thought process. And I was never hungry as long as I had my shake every 3 hrs.

My BMI is 54 and I have to do it for 4 weeks

I got assigned it for 3 weeks pre-op. Kind of started on it today, and will keep to it as much as I can. Don't have the surgery date scheduled yet though.

It's Protein shake, lean meat, fruits and veggies, legumes and non starchy veggies. Plus also allows 1/2 cup portions of low fat cottage or ricotta cheese.
