Hello everyone… I'm new to this site..I had lap band surgery four years ago, I did really well with it I lost 110 pounds but then I started having problems horrible reflux and my band slipped and last year had the lap band removed hoping that I would be able to do it all on my own, I thought I had a handle on it, figured I got this... Well needless to say here I am and I've gained 70 pounds… I returned to surgeon and did all of my appointments to have the sleeve done… My question is I have done the psych eval, nutritional appointment, the fitness consult, the only thing I'm worried about is if I'm going to have to do the three-month pre-diet since I've already done it with the band? Also I was told not to lose any weight because I'm right at 40 BMI. My surgeons office says that this part of the insurance is very unclear. They've submitted my paperwork and now I'm just waiting I'm so nervous!!! Any feedback would be great :)

@noeysmom- I am a revision from Lapband too due to band failure. My esophagus has slowed down and food is sitting in my throat. I had my first official doctors appointment in early August and I was approved on Monday for an October 18th surgery date. If you are having issues with the band, (at my practice )they move you along pretty quick.

Not sure if that helps, but I definitely did not have to go through the whole routine that I did on my initial surgery

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
