How soon after the operation can you drive?

Basically when it's not too painful. Those pot holes and train tracks can be brutal at first. I was driving within a couple of weeks, just be prepared for those big bumps.

As soon as you stop taking pain meds and feel up to it. But don't drive while taking pain meds!!!! I stopped taking them as soon as I got home so could drive right away

I think the whole taking pain meds and driving thing is a bit obvious. Even after pain meds, it's a bit painful. Which is why I say those bumps are brutal.

My wife said I drove her nuts before leaving the hospital. Does that count too?

I had no problem once I was off narcotic pain meds. I drove to my one week appointment. After a few days I had very little pain.

Per my doc, I was cleared at 1 wk visit. You have tone comfortable w/ seatbelt and pressing down on pedals
